Men's US Soccer team help break ground at Highland Park Commons


The US Mens' National team is in Chattanooga for their Soccer game Friday night, but they joined the Maclellan foundation on Wednesday for their second groundbreaking phase at Highland Park Commons.

A second soccer field is being built to accommodate the growing number of soccer players in the community.

Brad Evans with the US Soccer team said "coming here for the first time, and tapping into the community is special to us. These games.. you can't take anything for granted because you never know when its your last".

Friday is the first time the U.S. men's soccer team will play in Chattanooga.

They're playing regional opponent Jamaica at Finley Stadium at 7 o'clock.

Construction on the second phase of the park commons ... is expected to be done by early Summer.
