Silverdale Academy has announced a new athletic director.

Taylor Hasty will replace Mr. C.R. "Bubba" Simmons for the 2018-2019 school year, as Simmons took another position within Silverdale.

The school says Hasty graduated from Charlotte Latin School, in Charlotte, N.C. He attended Bryan College in Dayton, and helped restart the baseball program after a 16-year hiatus. In his senior year at Bryan, he earned the Lion of Valor award, given to students considered outstanding athletes on and off the field.

He was hired as assistant basketball coach and admissions counselor for the college, and went on to become head coach in 2008. During his time as head coach, the athletics department grew by more than 100 students-athletes and won conference titles in Women's Volleyball, two Softball titles and a Woman's Basketball Tournament Title.

Hasty said “I am so thankful to have the opportunity to serve the Lord at Silverdale. SBA is full of amazing people who have worked together to make it a wonderful place to partner with parents in the education of their children. I look forward to serving alongside the amazing coaches and parents in our community as we invest in the lives of our students.
