Our Scholar Athlete of the Week is Jace Gorman and Alexis Newman, sponsored by the Law Offices of Fisher Wise.
From Polk County High School is Jace Gorman.
Jace is the kicker on the Wildcats football team as well as playing on the soccer team.
He played soccer for the past seven years, four years on the varsity program.
He has also been a part of the 2019 all district second team.
In the classroom Jace holds a 3.958 G.P.A., and is member of the Beta Club, Civics Club, Club 21 and is ranked 7 out of 120 Seniors.
Outside the classroom, Jace volunteers at the food bank, on mission trips, and a server at his mom’s local restaurant.
Jace plans on attending Lee University.
From Meigs County High School Alexis Newman.
Alexis is a golfer for the Tigers for the past four years.
She has won district in 2017 and runner in the district and made regionals twice.
In the classroom, Alexis holds a 3.9 G.P.A. and is in the top 10% of the class, a member of the Hosa Club, received underclassman award in math in her junior year and was on student council her Sophomore and Junior year.
Outside the classroom, Alexis is active at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, where she brings elderly care baskets and goes on missions trips.
Alexis plans on attending Chattanooga State and UTC to become a pediatric oncology nurse.
