Almost one week after National Signing Day for high school football players, a local baseball player inked his letter of intent to play on the college level. Ringgold catcher Sam Mills signed Tuesday afternoon with Oglethorpe University in Atlanta.
Mills said he will continue to play catcher and believes he'll see early playing time at the Division III school. His athletic director Lee Shell and head coach Drew Walker both say Mills is just as strong in the classroom as he is behind the plate.
