Alabama gear is selling fast at Academy Sports near Hamilton Place Mall.

We caught up with one of the first customers of the day, Corey Williams.

The lifelong Bama fan is feeling generous after his team won the national championship. He spent about $520 buying national championship gear for his friends and family.

"Pretty good game, I hate they had to go to overtime, I was expecting Alabama to take them on out but Georgia tried to put up a fight at first," Williams said.

We also met Georgia fan Steve Storey, as he walked in wearing a Dawgs shirt and hat.

"It was a great game, I really enjoyed it," Storey said. "Somebody has to win, somebody has to lose, but I think the guys did really good."

As we showed you before the game, the store ordered several boxes of Georgia gear as well. This will now be shipped back to the merchandiser.

Steve has been a good sport though, bringing his lifelong Bama friend Archie Reeves to shop just after the store opened.

"I'm here to buy one of them Alabama Championship jerseys," Reeves said. "Alabama all the way, Roll Tide."

Shawn Wright, logistics manager for Academy Sports, say the gear is expected to sell fast. They don't plan to restock, but they will have it available online.

"Really proud for the Georgia team even though it was a loss," Wright said. "I guarantee these fans are looking forward to next year...I think it's going to be a huge match up again next year."
