Gordon Lee pitcher Jake Wright was sharp on the hill and at the plate during the Trojans 3-0 victory over Bowdon in game one of the Class A Public state semifinals Tuesday evening.
Wright threw a complete game one hit shutout.
He also brought in two RBI in the bottom of the second with a sharp shot down the third base line.
These two schools have a history.
They met last year in a semifinal series, one the Trojans won en route to a state championship.
Gordon Lee and Bowdon are in the same region and met twice this year, with the Trojans winning both.
Later Tuesday night, the Trojans exploded offensively for a 13-4 victory over Bowdon and a punched ticket to the state championship series.
Jake Poindexter was sharp on the mound as well in game two.
Gordon Lee will play the winner of the Irwin County/Schley County series.
Game one of the championship series is at 5:00 at Grayson Stadium in Savannah.
Game two will follow that evening.
