The Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) says a familiar name in Chattanooga football circles will take over as head coach at East Hamilton High School. Grant Reynolds will take over the Hurricane program.
HCDE says Coach Reynolds led Boyd-Buchanan School to nine region championships and 10 playoff appearances from 2006 to 2016. Coach Reynolds holds an overall record of 117 wins and 48 loses in his head coaching career.
“When we were faced with the task of having to fill our head football coaching vacancy at East Hamilton, we set out to find THE coach and not just A coach,” said Brent Eller, principal of East Hamilton. “Throughout this process, Coach Reynolds’ name continued to surface as possibly being that guy. Getting to know him over the past few weeks allowed us to determine that he would be THE coach that East Hamilton needed to continue successes already established and build upon those successes to take us to new levels. We are very excited about Coach Reynolds and the future of the East Hamilton football program.”
Reynolds was most recently the head coach of Madison Academy in Madison, Alabama. Madison was Region 8 5A champions in 2018 and 4A state runner-up in 2016.
