It is rare for the Chattanooga Mocs women's basketball team to lose back-to-back conference games.

It happened Thursday night in McKenzie Arena, the Mocs falling 50-45 against Furman.

The Mocs were coming off a 61-55 home loss to East Tennessee State.

With the loss to Furman, the Paladins swept the Mocs in the regular season.

The Mocs were 2 of 18 from behind the 3-point arc and the Paladins hit 19 of 20 free throws to win the game.

Coach Jim Foster said the team had a lack of identity and toughness.

Foster said it was time "to look in the mirror" for his team and himself.

In his post game news conference, he stressed how three of his coaches from former Mocs championship teams knew what it took to only lose four conference games in their careers, while this team has lost five this season.

The Mocs women have only one home game left, Saturday at 2:00pm against Wofford.
