On Monday, a firefighter in Chatsworth and his son paid tribute to the 343 New York Fire Department firefighters who lost their lives in the twin towers on September 11th, 2001.

Cambrie Gagliardi of Planet Fitness in Fort Oglethorpe shared a photo and a video with us.

She writes, "A father and son came in to Planet Fitness in Fort Oglethorpe today and climbed 110 flights of stairs on the stairclimber in remembrance of the police and firefighters killed on 9/11. This is the heart of a dad who loves his country."

Gagliardi identifies the firefighter as Kelly Joyce of Chatsworth.

Joyce reached out to us on Facebook after we shared his story. He tells us,

"Those guys that day climbed 110 floors knowing they were going to give their life. To try to rescue random people , but they did it anyways. The least I could do is gear up in a controlled environment and climb. To do it with my son made it that much more special."
