Happy birthday, America! Where to find 2018 local firework celebrations

BBQs, parades and most importantly – fireworks. The most patriotic holiday is right around the corner, and we have you covered for all of the local firework celebrations.

Here’s a list of where you can celebrate America’s birthday:

July 3rd

Chattanooga: Pops on the River at Coolidge Park from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Collegedale: “Freedom Celebration” Concert and Fireworks Festival at Veterans Memorial Park. The City of Collegedale’s Freedom Celebration is Tuesday, July 3rd. Festivities begin at 4:00pm with the Collegedale Market, Apison Pike vendors and booths open at 5pm, and 2 musical venues at both Imagination Station and Veterans Memorial Park with performances running from 6pm to 9:15pm and 9:45pm respectively. The performances at Imagination Station will be Kofi Mawuko and Jennifer Daniels. At Veterans Memorial Park, Lou Wamp and the Bluetastics, the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra, and Sweet Georgia Sound will play. For families with children, the Imagination Station Pavilion will have activities hosted by Collegedale Parks and Recreation as well as a bounce house sponsored by TKDo Karate and special demonstrations from 7:00-7:30pm. The childrens’ Red, White and Boom fun run will begin at 7:30pm, followed by the second annual 5k Glow Run along the greenway at 8:00pm. Fort Oglethorpe: Patriotism at The Post at the 6th Cavalry Museum.

Hixon: Middle Valley Camp Columbus Fireworks at Camp Columbus from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

July 4th

Andrews: 4th of July Celebration. Parade in downtown Murphy will begin at 2:00 p.m. and fireworks will start at Konehete Park at 9:30 p.m.

Athens: 4th of July Celebration at Athens Regional Park. Show begins at 9:30 p.m. Pie-eating contest at 9 p.m.

Bradley County: 64 Highway Fireworks Show.

Calhoun: Mohawk’s Star Spangled Celebration at the Northwest Georgia Regional Fairgrounds on Highway 53/Rome Road from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Chattanooga: AT&T Field after the Lookouts home game.

Cleveland: Bradley Square Mall at 9:30 p.m. Fireworks shot from the TL Lowery Lot.

Dalton: Heritage Point Park at 9:45 p.m.

Dalton: The 2018 Grace Regatta and Firework Show at the Grace Presbyterian Church at 9:00 p.m.

Decatur: Cottonport Marina and RV Resort at 7:00 p.m.

Dunlap: Downtown fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. best seen from the park or Courthouse Square.

Rossville: Lake Winnepesaukah at 10:00 p.m.

Soddy Daisy: Fourth of July cars and concerts starting at 9:00 a.m. Fireworks at dark.

Sweetwater: Independence Day celebration from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

July 7th

Spring City: Shake the Lake, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
