Dozens of Hamilton County students showed off their robotics craftsmanship Thursday.

Kids had the chance to show what they have worked on during school.

It happened at TVA's downtown Chattanooga office.

We spoke to some of the students participating in today's event.

From elementary to high school students, the kids say this is something they take seriously.

"I actually want to go to college to become a robotics engineer," says Tyner 11th grader Di'ashia Shropshire, "College is a big key for me."

"I've always liked building stuff and taking things apart and seeing how things work, how they tick," says Galdino Chavez, a senior at Howard.

Olivia competed in the robotics showcase. "It's fun and it's a way to express yourself and build and code and a whole lot of other stuff like that," she said.

TVA sponsors hundreds of robotics programs in schools across the Tennessee Valley.
