The Jewish Cultural Center here in Chattanooga hosted its community candle lighting ceremony Monday night at sundown, the traditional beginning of the 8-day holiday known as Hannukah.
The center says there are almost 15 hundred members of the Jewish community in Chattanooga.
About 150 of those members came to celebrate at the Jewish Cultural Center.
Their Rabbi says it's a holiday about miracles, and that these people are here to celebrate the miracle of life together.
"You see not only the youngest to the oldest, but you see everyone together at one table you'll find every generation."
And after the candles were lit, the center hosted games and a dinner for their members.
