Chattanooga Police now say this is not a hit and run case; spokeswoman Elisa Myzal says the driver who collided with the motorist passed through the intersection after the crash happened, but later stopped when she was in a safe place to pull over.
Police say the 33-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi Montero was heading north on Dodds Avenue and turning onto 28th Street when a motorcycle driven by 42-year-old Willie Person went straight through the intersection.
The car and the motorcycle collided, and Person was thrown to the ground.
A third vehicle, a minivan driven by a 33-year-old woman, ran over Person. Investigators say that driver was uanble to see Person before she ran over him.
Person was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation into the crash continues.
A Chattanooga dispatcher tells NewsChannel 9 that the still-unidentified victim has died.
