LaFayette dispatch confirms the accident happened on Gordon Pond Road at West North Main street Friday.
Dispatch tells us at least one person was transported to a local hospital, and that a Puckett EMS vehicle was involved in the crash.
Puckett EMS sent NewsChannel 9 a release describing what happened:
"A Puckett EMS ambulance was involved in a crash on Friday, Sept. 8, at approximately 8:45 p.m. on West N. Main Street in Lafayette, Georgia. A vehicle crossed the dividing line into the wrong lane and struck the ambulance as it was returning to a Puckett EMS station after returning from a call. The EMT and paramedic in the ambulance involved in the accident administered care to the other driver on the scene before additional Puckett EMS ambulances arrived and transported the driver to Erlanger Hospital. The Puckett EMS personnel were later treated for minor injuries at Cornerstone Medical Center. "
The Georgia State Patrol has confirmed that an ambulance and a passenger vehicle were involved in a traffic accident Friday evening.
We're still working to gather information, but a deputy with GSP tells us that the accident caused injuries, although it is not known at this time how severe.
