In this week's Scenic City Adventures, Abby Kirk shows ventured toward Soddy- Daisy to explore the Big Soddy Creek Gulf.

The Big Soddy Creek Gulf is located at 11721 Back Valley Road. The area is commonly known as the "Gulf." It's a natural beauty with lots of history.

"I just think it's absolutely gorgeous," Tom Melnick Jr., a resident on the trail said.

The "Gulf" was acquired by the city in 2014. The nearly 285 acres of land include hiking trails, waterfalls, and the big Soddy Creek.

People can walk, hike, or bike on the trails. There is also a place to picnic. A big water hole makes for the perfect place to take a dip in the warmer months.

Most agree it's the perfect place to check out.

"In a world where you are so plugged in...to be able to out here by yourself in your thoughts and stuff...it's rare," Bryan Ring, a resident on the trail said.

The trail is dog friendly and is open from sunrise to sunset.
